Article body
Romanian goalkeeper Florin Prunea is on the verge of a move from FC Dinamo Bucuresti to Italy's AC Perugia.
'No opposition'
The 33-year-old is struggling to find a place in the Dinamo first team and executive director Cristian Borcea revealed: "If Perugia want to take him, there will no opposition from our side. Prunea has done a lot for Dinamo and we can not refuse him this fantastic chance."
Spell in Turkey
Prunea's career has been based almost entirely at Dinamo, but he did have brief spells in Turkey with Erzurumspor and in Bulgaria with PFC Litex Lovech. He also spent six months with both FC Universitatea Craiova and Universitatea Cluj in his homeland.
World Cup
Prunea played for Romania in the final tournaments of the FIFA World Cups in 1994 and 1998 but he never became his country's first-choice keeper, thus denying him a big-money move abroad. After returning to Dinamo at the beginning of 2001, Prunea soon lost his place in the team to fellow Romanian Bogdan Lobont who was brought in on loan from AFC Ajax.
Free transfer
Although Prunea has declared several times that he is not bothered by his reserve status and that he is content with his new contract with Dinamo - "the team of my heart and of my life" - the lure of Italian football may prove too much to turn down. Prunea is available on a free transfer and will hope to complete his move in the near future.
