Anghel Iordanescu officially became Romania's new national coach as he signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Romanian Football Federation on Monday.
Main objective
The 51-year-old will be in charge until 31 July 2004, with his main objective being to secure qualification for the EURO 2004™ tournament in Portugal.
'More confident'
After the signing ceremony, the RFF President, Mircea Sandu, declared: "There weren't any problems. Now that everything is signed, knowing that Iordanescu is national trainer, I am more confident and sure regarding the future of the Romanian national team. Iordanescu is the trainer who is capable to achieve big successes".
