Article body
Cypriot side AEP Paphos FC have signed midfield player Sasa Jovanovic from Panionios GS in Greece.
Mahradze injured
Jovanovic, 27, has been brought into the side after it was reported that Georgian midfield player Levani Mahradze will miss the rest of the season through injury. The Yugoslavian is not new to Cypriot football due to the three-year spell he had on the island with Anorthosis Famagusta FC and APOP Paphos FC. Jovanovic, who speaks fluent Greek, was a particular favourite at APOP after helping them avoid relegation in 1997/98.
Cup mission
AEP are eleventh in the Cypriot Division A standings, just eight points above the relegation zone. Jovanovic could well make his first appearance for his new side in their cup fixture against Apollon Limassol FC this weekend. AEP will be hoping to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Limassol.
