MKE Ankaragücü battled back from a goal down to earn a 3-2 win at home to Fenerbahçe SK.
Early lead
The Istanbul giants travelled back home with no points despite taking a first-half lead at the 19 Mayis stadium. An own goal from Niyazi Güney put the visitors ahead after 23 minutes, but rather than take advantage of their fortunate lead, Fenerbahçe fell apart in the face of a determined Ankaragücü attack.
Fenerbahçe collapse
Faruk Namdar fired the home side level on 27 minutes to herald an Ankaragücü onslaught. Hakan Keles scored a second after 38 minutes and Ismet Tasdemir added a third with four minutes of the half remaining.
Determined defending
Kennet Andersson pulled a goal back for Fenerbahçe two minutes later but despite constant pressure from the visitors in the second half, Ankaragücü held firm to claim the win.
