Division A leaders AEL Limassol FC slipped to a 2-1 defeat at AEP Paphos FC on Saturday.

AEL Limassol FC's title campaign suffered a setback on Saturday as Andreas Michaelides's side slipped to a 2-1 away defeat by AEP Paphos FC.

Garpozis penalty
Cypriot Under-21 international Alexis Garpozis put the Division A leaders into a late first-half lead from the penalty spot after Zenzo Moyo brought Vladan Tomic down in the Paphos area.

AEP fight back
AEP never laid down, however, and fought back to equalise immediately after the restart thanks to a Savvas Zoetsas strike from close range after he was found by Andros Stephanou's clever pass. Stelios Sofocleous eventually gave the Paphos club victory on 62 minutes after he rose above the AEL defence to head home Stephanou's free-kick.

Points shared
Enosis Neon Paralimni FC and Anorthosis Famagusta FC battled out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Paralimni as Polish midfield player Slawomir Majak's late equaliser cancelled out Costas Elias's goal on 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Ermis Aradippos FC came seconds away from grabbing their first three points of the season but had to eventually settle for just one after Doxa Katokopia FC's Elias Kapsalis secured a 2-2 draw in added time.

Easy win
Champions Omonia FC had an easy afternoon, beating lowly Ethnikos Ashias FC 2-0 at the Makarios Athletic Centre to move themselves closer towards leaders AEL, while Cypriot Cup holders Apollon Limassol FC earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Ilie Dumitrescu's improved Alki FC.
