Article body
Rosenborg BK made the worst possible start to the new Tippeligaen season as they lost 1-0 at home to Odds BK today in the shock result of the opening round of matches.
Home defeat
Espen Hoff's 62nd-minute goal was enough to seal the win for Odd, sending Rosenborg to their first ever defeat in an opening match at home. Despite dominating the game, Rosenborg were unable to break down a resolute Odd defence and were booed off the pitch by their fans after the final whistle.
Two for Sundgot
Last season's runners-up Lillestrøm SK proved that Rosenborg will face tough competition this season as they had few problems beating Viking FK 2-0. Aril Sundgot scored in the 52nd and 78th minutes to seal the win.
Hanssen winner
The minnows of Bryne FK had two men sent off as they lost 1-0 at home to SFK Lyn. Both Einar Braut and Lasse Strand were dismissed in the second half - Braut for elbowing match-winner Jonny Hanssen in the face. Hanssen scored the game's only goal after 31 minutes.
Great fightback
Moss FK fought back from three goals down to level the scores at 3-3 against Sogndal IL. Hevard Flo and Dag Christian Sørum, with two, put Sogndal firmly in control, but veteran striker Kjell Olofsson struck twice in four minutes, in the 71st and 75th minutes, before Thomas Solberg salvaged a point for the home side in the 85th minute. Moss came close to winning the game with Hans Erik Ramberg hitting the post twice in the closing stages.
Good debut
Tippeligaen newcomers Vålerenga Fotball drew 1-1 with FK Bodø/Glimt. Cato Hansen gave the visitors the lead before Petter Belsvik levelled the scores.
All square
The other top-flight newcomers IK Start also drew their opening game as they were held 1-1 by Stabæk IF. Six minutes from time, substitute Kimmo Tauriainen equalised for Start, after Peter Sand marked his debut with a goal for the visitors. Another debutant, Start goalkeeper Dime Jankulowski, saved a penalty from Christian Holter in the first half.
