Cyprus round-up: Kozlej double sinks AEP

Olympiakos Nicosia FC secured an comfortable 4-1 win over AEP Paphos FC at the GSP stadium in the only game on Sunday.

Deserved lead
Olympiakos took a deserved lead on 14 minutes thanks to Slovakian striker Josef Kozlej's penalty, but his goal was cancelled out 12 minutes later with a powerful shot from Savvas Zoetsas.

The hosts regained the lead just before half-time with a goal from midfield player Savvas Tsiakklis and Kozlej grabbed his second of the game just after the restart when his shot from Aristos Aristocleous's free-kick took a wicked deflection off Themis Agathocelous and flew past AEP goalkeeper Christos Michael. Michalis Christophi wrapped up the points for Olympiakos three minutes later with an accurate shot from Kozlej's clever pass.

Kozlej's double strike lifts him to second place in the Cypriot Division A scoring charts with 13 goals, where he is joined by Costas Elias of Enosis Neon Paralimni FC and Polish striker Wojciech Kowalczyk of Anorthosis Famagusta FC. The 38-year-old Yugoslavian-Cypriot Sinisa Gogic of APOEL Nicosia FC is currently top of the scorers chart with 14 goals.
