The 25-year-old, who made 28 Serie A appearances for the club last season and scored 13 goals, picked up the ligament problem during Saturday's friendly match against Sampdoria UC.
Major blow
The news will come as a major blow to Brescia coach Carlo Mazzone, as much was expected of the Pavullo nel Frignano-born forward in the forthcoming Italian season. Having begun his career with Modena FC in 1994, Toni had spells with Empoli FC, Treviso FC and Vicenza Calcio, before arriving at the Mario Rigamonti stadium in 2001.
