Article body
Peter Sand is poised for a move to Stabæk IF after Barnsley FC and the Norwegian Tippeligaen club agreed terms for the midfield player.
Quick move
Sand, the twin brother of Danish international striker Ebbe Sand, only has to pass a medical to complete the deal. Sand was due to travel to Spain with the Stabæk squad on Friday to take part in the yearly La Manga tournament featuring a number of Scandinavian sides.
Aiming to rejuvenate career
Sand, 29, has struggled to settle with Barnsley, who play in the English first division, after moving there in September from FC Midtjylland. Sand, who played six times for the Yorkshire club, will now be aiming to get his career back on track with Stabæk.
Replacement for Linderoth
Stabæk have been looking for a replacement for Tobias Linderoth since Everton FC signed the Swedish international midfield player for a €4.9m fee at the end of January. Sand, who has been capped once by his country, will be hoping to help Stabæk improve on their fourth place finish in last season’s Tippeligaen.
