Rosenborg BK defeated fellow Norwegians Molde FK 4-1 in the La Manga tournament on Wednesday.

Rosenborg BK got back to winning ways in the La Manga tournament in Spain on Wednesday with a 4-1 defeat of fellow Norwegians Molde FK.

Fantastic start
The Tippeligaen champions, beaten 2-1 by Örgyte IS on Monday, made a fantastic start to the game, Morten Knutsen putting them ahead after just 25 seconds. Bent Skammelsrud, Harald Brattbakk and Christer George completed a terrific day for coach Nils Arne Eggen after he was sent off for dissent during the defeat by the Swedish outfit. Örgyte remain top of Group A but they could only draw 2-2 with a CSKA Moscow side who had Dmitri Sennkov sent off five minutes before half-time despite dominating possession.

Viking halt Lokomotiv
Viking FK's Swedish coach Benny Lennartson was all smiles after the Norwegian outfit stormed to the top of Group B with a 5-1 victory over FC Lokomotiv Moscow. Björn Berland took the plaudits for Viking, scoring three times inside 20 minutes. Even though Lokomotiv looked impressive going forward, the Stavanger club had no trouble exploiting the Russian side's defensive frailities. Viking are joined at the summit by Swedish champions Hammarby IF FF after they eased past fellow compatriots Halmstads BK 2-0.

Level pegging
The four clubs in Group C are level on three points after the two clubs which won on Monday ran out of luck on Wednesday. Helsingborgs IF recovered from their 4-1 thrashing by Lilleström SK to defeat AIK Solna 3-0, while Tom Stenvoll capitalised on a defensive error in the dying seconds to give Stabæk IF a 1-0 victory over Lilleström.

Annual event
The annual event, which traditionally serves as pre-season preparation for Scandinavian sides during the winter break, continues on Saturday.
