Former Belgian international striker Luc Nilis, who had his career cut short by injury, is to benefit from a special testimonial featuring four of his former clubs. RSC Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Aston Villa FC and KRC Genk will take part in a four-team mini tournament in Nilis's honour.
'Proper farewell'
Dirk Degrean, Nilis's agent, said: "We have been thinking for a long time about a proper farewell for Luc in Belgium. In the end we decided to organise a tournament with the clubs Luc had played for. They immediately agreed and we have a deal with Genk to organise it."
Special guests
Nilis himself will be invited to play for a couple of minutes in the tournament which will also include special guests such as Ronaldo, Ruud van Nistelrooij and Romario. Nilis's career came to a premature end after he broke his leg in five places during an FA Premiership match between Villa and Ipswich Town FC.
