Leaders Legia Warszawa beat defending champions TS Wisla Kraków 1-0 on Friday.

The top two sides in the Polish Ekstraklasa came together on Friday night, with leaders Legia Warszawa running out 1-0 victors against defending champions TS Wisla Kraków at the Wojska Polskiego stadium.

Karwan winner
Substitute Bartosz Karwan, who had replaced Tomasz Sokolowski ten minutes earlier, latched on to an Aleksander Vukovic cross in the 76th minute to secure maximum points for Legia.

Missed penalty
Legia, who were forced to field inexperienced goalkeeper Artur Boruc because of an injury to regular No1 Radostin Stanew, were the dominant side in the first half and wasted an excellent chance to go in a goal to the good at the interval when Tomasz Sokolowski's 45th-minute penalty was saved by Artur Sarnat.

Second successive defeat
The goal sparked Wisla into life but they failed to find an equaliser despite enjoying plenty of possession. The defeat was Franciszek Smuda's side's second in succession after they lost 4-2 to KP Polonia Warsaw last Saturday.
