Article body
Relegation-threatened Turkish club Yozgatspor have appointed former Galatasaray SK player Ugur Tütüneker as coach in place of Rasim Kara.
Resignation offered
Kara offered his resignation after a 2-3 home defeat by Trabzonspor this weekend. Kara had been in charge for three months since replacing Bahri Kaya, but had failed to reverse the team's poor form, leaving them in danger of relegation.
Second spell
Tütüneker has signed an 18-month contract with the club. He is expected to be paid around €35,000 until the end of the current season. He had a previous spell at Yozgatspor back in 1998/99 as assistant coach to Ilyas Tüfekçi.
Extension possible
"He knows the team good enough and he came here to be successful," Yozgatspor vice-president Kenan Yilmaz said. "At the end of the season we will talk again about a possible extension to his contract.
'Great confidence'
"We will fight fiercely to avoid relegation until the last moment," Yilmaz added. "We have great confidence in Ugur Tütüneker. We believe that he will be successful."
