Series of ankle injuries
Experienced stopper Bjarmann has been hit by the latest in a series of ankle injuries, leaving him struggling to make Lillestrøm's Norwegian premier division opener against Viking FK
Training collision
He explained: "It was in training. I tried to jump to avoid our goalkeeper in a collision, but fell down and hurt my left ankle. I have had this problem before, and in fact had operations on both ankles. Since then the troubles have been minor, until now."
Bjarmann confident at comeback
Despite the injury, Bjarmann is eager to be part of the team straight from the opening match. "If everything goes according to plan, I will be involved in our final pre-season match a week before the season starts, and I am quite confident of making the league opening," he said.
In 13th year with club
"I am not on crutches at the moment," he continued. "The doctors have told me it is better to use the foot as normal as possible when I walk, in order to make the ankle stronger." Bjarmann has been with Lillestrøm since 1989, and is currently less than 12 months through a three-year contract.
