Austrian champions FC Tirol Innsbruck are out of the Austrian Cup after falling to their second defeat at the hands of FC Kärnten in the space of three days.

Oberleitner goal
The runaway Austrian Bundesliga leaders were beaten 1-0 thanks to a goal from German midfield player Markus Oberleitner who headed into the net after 33 minutes to complete a double triumph following his side's 2-1 league victory against Tirol on Sunday.

'Very proud'
"I am very proud of my team, they have beaten the champions and clear leaders twice within three days," said Karnten coach Walter Schachner. Karnten seem to have a hold over the Innsbruck outfit, having also defeated them 3-1 in last season's cup final.

Disappointment 'not too big'
Tirol coach Joachim Low played down the defeat at and turned his attention back to the championship. "My disappointment is not too big," he said. "Of course we wanted to win but our big aim is the national championship and we can now concentrate on it." Karnten's prize for disposing of the favourites is a quarter-final clash with division one side SEZ Bad Bleiberg.
