Russia round-up: Sychev inspires Spartak

Russian champions FC Spartak Moscow cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory on Saturday.

Sychev hits two
A goal in each half from Dmitri Sychev did the damage against SC Rotor Volgograd. The opener came on 19 minutes and Sychev added a second four minutes after half-time as the champions moved to third place in the table.

Torpedo strike late
FC Alania Vladikavkaz and FC Torpedo Moscow shared the points after the visitors snatched a last-minute leveller through Georgi Bazaev. Igor Semshov had opened the scoring on the hour following Omari Tetradze's penalty miss for Alania.
