CSKA Moscow dropped their first points of the season as they were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by newly-promoted Uralan Elista.
Leaders race into lead
The league leaders raced into a two-goal lead with Andrei Solomatin netting after 20 minutes and Rolan Gusev doubling the lead from the penalty spot five minutes later. But Uralan, who have yet to win a game since winning promotion, struck back swiftly to level the scores before the break.
Kirichenko equaliser
Zurab Tsiklauri scored on the half-hour mark and Arsen Avakov levelled the scores nine minutes later. Avakov looked to have grabbed an unlikely winner for Uralan three minutes from time, but Dmitri Kirichenko's equaliser a minute later ensured the honours remained even.
Lokomotiv level with CSKA
FC Lokomotiv Moscow moved level on points with CSKA after a comfortable 2-0 win over FC Torpedo-ZIL Moscow. Narvik Sirkhaev and Dmitri Sennikov scored Lokomotiv's goals.
Saturn held
FC Saturn were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Anzhi Makhachkala after Aleksei Meleshin cancelled out Aleksei Saveliev's eleventh-minute opener. Anzhi finished the game with ten men after Serhiy Dmitriev was dismissed for punching Andrei Movsesian.
Zenit denied
FC Zenit St. Petersburg were denied their third win of the season after drawing 1-1 with FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. Maxsim Astafiev headed Zenit in front four minutes into the game, but they were punished for failing to add to their score when Alexsei Bychkov drove an equaliser in the 65th minute.
A winning start
Dinamo Moscow's new coach Viktor Prokopenko got off to a winning start as his side beat FC Rostselmash Rostov-Na-Donu 5-0. Anton Kharzov scored twice while Eugeni Karlachev, Dmitri Boulykin and Aleksandr Panov added the rest. FC Sokol Saratov and Krylya Sovetov Samara played out a goalless draw in the day's other game.
