Club Brugge KV remain two points behind Belgian first division leaders KRC Genk after they surprisingly lost 1-0 at home to KAA Gent.
European quest
Alexandros Kaklamanos scored the only goal of the match after 56 minutes to give the visitors a vital win in their quest for a UEFA Cup place for next season. Gent almost took the lead in the first half, but Darko Anic failed to hit the target after going round Brugge goalkeeper Danny Verlinden.
Anic pivotal
Brugge's best chance fell to defender Nzelo Lembi in the 40th minute, but his header flew over the bar. Anic was pivotal in the Gent goal, as it was his lob that hit the crossbar and Kaklamanos was on hand to knock home the rebound. In the dying minutes, Rune Lange had two chances to equalise, but his headers were saved by Frederic Herpoel in the Gent goal.
Amazing fightback
KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen produced a wonderful second-half comeback to claim a 3-3 draw at lowly KSC Eendracht Aalst, having been 3-0 down in the first-half. Georges Arts put the home side in front after five minutes, heading home an Eric Joly corner, and the lead was doubled on ten minutes when Damir Stojak scored from the penalty spot after a foul by Samir Beloufa.
Rot stopped
It looked like the match could become a rout for Eendracht as they hit a third goal after only 14 minutes when Cédric Carrez fired home after being picked out by a Joly free-kick. But the visitors managed to stop the rot, and got back into the match on 53 minutes, when Paul Kpaka scored his 17th of the season.
Late leveller
Kristof Snelders then put Germinal right back in contention, curling the ball past Eendracht keeper Rade Mojovic. And Snelders completed the astonishing comeback deep into injury time, which now leaves Eendracht ten points from safety.
Penalty winner
RAA Louviéroise beat RWD Molenbeek 1-0 thanks to a 77th minute penalty by Frederic Tilmant, after a foul on the player by keeper Kris Van de Putte who received a yellow card.
