RC Lens defender Zoumana Camara has been ruled out for the rest of the French domestic season and the UEFA European Under-21 Championship as he prepares to undergo surgery.
Month-long rest
The 23-year-old will undergo an operation on his groin and must then rest for a month, having played just eleven matches for his club since joining from Olympique de Marseille last summer.
First cap last summer
Camara, formerly with AS Saint-Etienne and SC Bastia won the 1997 UEFA European Under-18 Championship with France, and gained his first full cap at the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup in Korea/Japan. He also had a spell with Italian club Internazionale FC in 1999, but failed to make any first-team appearances.
