Genk's 1-0 victory at K. Sint Truidense took them a point clear of previous leaders Club Brugge KV who drew with R. Standard de Liège yesterday.
Euro hopefuls win
AA Gent boosted their chances of a UEFA Cup place with a 4-2 win at KFC Lommelse SK. Djima Oyawole and Alexandros Kaklamanos kept the visitors ahead while Mirek Waligora and Vit Valenta were on target for the hosts.
Molenbeek woe
Meanwhile, there was good and bad news for RWD Molenbeek. One-nil home victors over K. Lierse SK, they nonetheless suffered a major defeat with the Belgian Football Association's decision to deny them a licence for next season. This could mean relegation for the Brussels club.
