CSKA Moscow claimed a place in the last four of the Russian Cup tonight with a narrow 1-0 win over city rivals FC Torpedo-ZIL Moscow.
Piyuk strike
Igor Piyuk scored the only goal of a hard-fought game after 20 minutes for the Russian Premier-Liga leaders, who have won their first five league matches of the new season.
First division opponents
In the semi-finals CSKA take on first division outfit FC Amkar Perm, who defeated FC Sokol Saratov 2-1. Konstantin Paramonov put the unfancied side ahead after just three minutes, only to see his effort wiped out by Andrei Fedkov's 83rd-minute penalty. Amkar were not to be denied though and Airat Akhmetgaliev struck three minutes from time to put them through.
Saturn through
In the other quarter-final encounters FC Saturn sent Dinamo Moscow crashing with a 3-0 victory.
Zenit win
Saturn will now face FC Zenit St. Petersburg in the semi-finals after they saw off Krylya Sovetov Samara 1-0.
