Superliga leaders MŠK Zilina opened up a 12-point gap over second-placed FC Artmedia Petrzalka with an emphatic 6-0 win against FC Tatran Prešov on Saturday.
Mintál double
Marek Mintál broke the deadlock after three minutes with a crisp strike, and Bratislav Labant doubled their advantage soon after when he converted Tomás Durica's cross. The influential Mintál struck again in the 28th minute with a powerful header before Miroslav Nemec added the fourth on the stroke of half-time.
Durica strike
Durica turned from provider to goalscorer in the second half when he drilled in a shot from just inside the penalty area. Nemec capped off a memorable display by Zilina with a cool finish from 18 metres.
Six-goal thriller
1. FC Košice and MŠK Ruzomberok were involved in a six-goal thriller which eventually finished 3-3. Radoslav Zábavník's early opener was cancelled out by Marian Dirndbach's header after 17 minutes. Ruzomberok opened up a two-goal lead courtesy of efforts from Daniel Kosmel and Ján Safranko, but Košice pulled one back through Jan Lelkes. And the hosts equalised in the 57th minute when Rudolf Urban netted from the penalty spot.
Kratochvíl scores at both ends
FK Dukla Trencín secured a 2-1 home win over AŠK Inter Bratislava, despite being a goal down at the interval. Roman Kratochvíl gave his side the lead in the 18th minute with a neat header from Juraj Czinege's corner. The visitors thought they had wrapped up a 1-0 win until two second-half goals gave Trencín victory. Martin Fabus equalised in the 76th minute before the hosts clinched victory following an unfortunate own goal from Kratochvíl.
Dubnica in charge
FK ZTS Dubnica also celebrated an impressive 3-0 win at ŠK Slovan Bratislava, but they remain 13 points behind their hosts in the league table.
