Lars Nilsson's goal gave IF Elfsborg a 2-1 win at IFK Göteborg on Monday and moved his side up to third in the Allsvenskan table.
Better team
Elfsborg were the better team in the first half and Andreas Drugge gave them a deserved lead in front of 12,169 spectators at the Ullevi stadium in the 34th minute. Göteborg held the ascendancy after the break and equalised in the 53rd minute when midfield player Sebastian Henriksson capitalised on a mistake in Elfsborg's defence.
Nilsson winner
But Nilsson, a newcomer from IK Brage, then scored his second goal in the top flight this season to secure the points. He was able to pick his spot and fire past Göteborg goalkeeper Bengt Andersson after being left free in the area.
Djurgården held
Djurgårdens IF FF fell one place to fourth following a 1-1 draw with Halmstads BK. Djurgården dominated the opening half, forcing 13 corners without being able to capitalise on any of them. However, eight minutes after the break Abgar Barsom scored with a shot from close range following a pass from Andreas Johansson.
Arvidsson equaliser
Halmstad won their second corner of the game with 16 minutes to go, and after a goalmouth scramble veteran Torbjörn Arvidsson, in his 260th game, equalised.
Helsingborg defeated
In the day's other match, Örebro SK FK defeated disappointing Helsingborgs IF 1-0, with Jon Lundblad scoring the only goal of the game after 59 minutes.
