Tommy Oren scored the winner as Sogndal IL beat Bryne FK 3-2 to move off the bottom of the table.

Tommy Oren helped lift Sogndal IL off the bottom of the Norweigan Tippeligaen table with the crucial goal in a 3-2 win over Bryne FK on Monday.

First win
Oren, on as a second-half substitute and a transfer target for Rosenborg BK, popped up just three minutes before the end to secure Sogndal's first win of the season.

Highly entertaining match
Both Sogndal and Bryne have struggled so far in this campaign, but the match gave few answers as to why. It was highly entertaining even though it took 45 minutes before the first goal came. Bryne's playmaker Pierre Gallo picked out the Swede Peter Olofsson on the stroke of half-time and Olofsson finished with aplomb.

Came to life
Then, after the break, the game came to life. Anders Stadheim levelled for Sogndal after a fine pass from Alexander Odegaard. And just three minutes later, the hosts were in front - Thormod Naess heading home Terje Flugeheim's long throw-in. But Bryne equalised through substitute Kenneth Giske on 66 minutes.

Oren pounced
Just as the match was fading into a draw, however, Oren pounced with a far-post header to give Sogndal all three points. The win moves Sogndal above IK Start and to second bottom in the table.
