FBK Kaunas returned to the top of the Lithuanian first division table on Friday with a comprehensive 5-0 demolition of FK Suduva.
Top on goal difference
Two goals from Andrius Velicka, and one apiece for Audrius Slekys, Remigijus Pocius and Andrius Puotkalis put the champions ahead of second-placed FK Zalgiris Vilnius on goal difference. Defeat sent Suduva to second from bottom with only six points in nine games.
Good point for Nevézis
Zalgiris, meanwhile, who have played two games more, gifted their rivals top spot as they were held to a goalless draw by the league's bottom side FK Nevézis.
Atlantas in touch
FK Atlantas kept up with the top two as they hammered FK Sakalas 4-1. Vidas Dancenka and Tadas Labukas gave Atlantas a two-goal cushion before the break, while a Tomas Tamosauskas double completed the rout in the second half. Viaceslavas Konikas earned Sakalas a consolation goal six minutes from time.
Ekranas victorious
In the day's other match, Audrius Banevicius and Mindaugas Gardzijauskas scored as FK Ekranas won 2-0 at FK Gelezinis Vilkas.
