Lithuania round-up: Thriller keeps Zalgiris unbeaten

FK Zalgiris Vilnius closed the gap on 1. Lyga leaders FBK Kaunas with a 5-3 home win over bottom club FK Nevézis today.

Surprise lead
The visitors, who only managed one goal from their opening six games this season, took a surprise fourth-minute lead through Vitalis Stankevicius.

Level pegging
Viktor Afanasenko and Karolis Jasaitis put Zalgiris ahead soon after but Robertas Silajevas levelled before half-time.

Lead restored
Marius Kizys restored the home side's lead before a 75th-minute penalty from Mindaugas Grigalevicius and a goal from Giedrius Barevicius six minutes from time finished off Nevézis.

Still undefeated
A 90th-minute penalty from the visitors' Evaldas Babenskas was of little consequence, meaning Zalgiris remain unbeaten so far this season.
