FC Pyunik beat city rivals FC Zvartnots AAL in the Armenian Cup final.

FC Pyunik have clinched their first double in Armenia by beating city rivals FC Zvartnots AAL in the Armenian Cup final today.

Mamadu opener
Mali striker Diavara Mamadu put Pyunik ahead after 17 minutes and the league champions never looked back. Armenian international Artavaz Karamyan wrapped up the win with a second just before the interval.

UEFA Cup consolation
Zvartnots were eager to triumph after finishing second to Pyunik in the 2001 championship but failed to create many clear-cut chances. Despite defeat, they will play in the UEFA Cup next season as Pyunik had secured a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
