HJK Helsinki's Petri Oravainen scored late on to clinch a 1-0 win over FC Inter Turku.

HJK Helsinki moved a point clear at the top of the Finnish Veikkausliiga after Petri Oravainen's late goal clinched a 1-0 home win over potential title rivals FC Inter Turku on Sunday. Neither side could seize control of a tightly-contested encounter, but Oravainen grabbed a crucial winner for his team in the last minute.

Tampere ticking over
Elsewhere, a solitary Janne Rasanen strike gave last season's champions Tampere United FC victory against basement club KuPS Kuopio. But Tampere remain in sixth place because fifth-placed FF Jaro also clinched three points, courtesy of a 2-1 home win over VPS Vaasa.
