Article body
FC Inter Turku closed the gap on the Finnish first division leaders Myllykosken Pallo-47 to a single point tonight after clinching a 1-0 home win against FC Haka.
Crucial breakthrough
Inter found it tough to break down a determined Haka side but they finally got the crucial breakthrough 12 minutes from time when Gabriel Flores netted from the penalty spot. It proved a vital strike as MyPa struggled to a goalless draw at home to last season's champions Tampere United FC.
HJK keep pace
Fourth-placed HJK Helsinki kept up the pace with a comfortable 2-0 victory at VPS Vaasa thanks to goals from Mika Kottila (22) and David Wilson (66). Elsewhere, AC Allianssi maintained fifth place after a 1-0 win over FF Jaro courtesy of Petteri Kaijasilta's strike, FC Hämeenlinna were 2-1 winners against bottom club KuPS Kuopio, and FC Lahti ran out 3-2 victors against FC Jazz.
