'We had to take action'
Nevézis have picked up just one point from 13 matches this season, leading club president Juozas Baniota to make the decision. "It could not go on like that. The team is losing match after match. We had to take action," Banio said. Juknevicius had blamed refereeing decisions and bad luck for the team's plight.
Eight points adrift
Former Nevézis player Zalys, capped five times by Lithuania, takes over a side eight points adrift of second-bottom club FK Gelezinis-Vilkas in the nine-team division.
