Members

Bohemian FC remain top of the table after a derby win against Shamrock Rovers FC this weekend.

FAI National League leaders Bohemian FC maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-2 victory over Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers FC on Friday evening.

Crowe double
Paul Keegan put Bohemians ahead on 24 minutes, and seven minutes later a Mark Rutherford cross found striker Glenn Crowe who calmly finished to extend Bohemians' lead.  Noel Hunt pulled a goal back for Rovers before half time, but the game was effectively ended as a contest on 78 minutes when Crowe found himself one on one with goalkeeper Robbie Horgan, and duly finished to restore his side's two-goal advantage.

Francis consolation
Sean Francis scored a consolation for Shamrock Rovers in injury time, but in truth, it was scarcely deserved as Bohemians dominated most of the game.

Drogheda impress
Newly promoted Drogheda United FC moved into second place with a 1-0 win over Cork City FC in Drogheda. Striker Andy Myler scored the winner for Drogheda, with his crucial goal coming from the penalty spot after 36 minutes.

Champions win
Defending champions Shelbourne FC secured their first win of the season on Friday, when they won 3-1 at University College Dublin FC. Despite losing key striker Trevor Molloy during the week, Shelbourne finally found their scoring form with midfield player Stuart Byrne giving Pat Fenlon’s side the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Spectacular strike
Second-half goals from defender Tony McCarthy, and a spectacular overhead kick from striker Stephen Geogeghan put Shelbourne into an unassailable three-goal lead. UCD’s captain Tony McDonnell pulled a goal back ten minutes from time.

Savic equaliser
In the weekend’s other game, Derry City FC scored their first point of the season, as they drew 1-1 in their home game against Longford Town FC. David Kelly made his Derry debut, but it was strike partner Gary Beckett who put the home side in front after 26 minutes. Derry failed to build on their lead and Longford deserved their point that was attained courtesy of a 51st-minute equaliser by their new signing, substitute Simi Savic.
