Ferencvárosi TC continued their fine start to the season with their third win - and clean sheet - out of three games, by beating Békéscsabai EFC 2-0.
Szili free-kick
Home side Békéscsabai held last season's runners-up until the 55th minute, when Hungarian international defender Gábor Gyepes headed in a corner for the visitors. József Garami's team then secured victory through substitute Attila Szili's free-kick in added time.
Illés stars with hat-trick
MTK Hungária FC edged out Debreceni VSC 4-3 to continue their own winning start to the campaign. Two goals in the first 16 minutes from MTK captain Béla Illés gave the home team a perfect opening, and although they were pegged back on 18 minutes by Debrecen striker Marius Sumudica, Alin Dragan made it 3-1 late in the first half. Tibor Selymes and Zoltán both scored after the break to put the visitors level, but Illés ensured the hosts' triumph, completing his hat-trick in the 64th minute, saying after the game: "It was always my intention to score goals, sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Today was a good day."
No let-up from Györi
Györi ETO FC are also yet to drop a point after a 2-1 win at Dunaferr SE, while Siófoki BSE triumphed by the same score at Kispest Honvéd FC, and, on Friday, Újpesti TE ended their losing start to the season by beating Videoton FC Fehérvár 2-1. Zalaegerszegi TE postponed their match with MFC Sopron to prepare for Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League third qualifying match at home to 1999 trophy-winners Manchester United FC.
