FK Jablonec 97 made a perfect start to the season with a 2-1 home victory against 1. FC Synot, as the first set of matches in the Czech first division was completed on Wednesday afternoon.

Two-goal lead
Midfield player Jirí Hasek opened the scoring for Jablonec in the 56th minute, and they were two goals ahead just six minutes later when Ondrej Herzán found the target.

Late consolation
Synot battled to get back into the match but had to settle for a last-minute consolation from Rastislav Kostka, to continue their disappointing week after their Saturday exit from the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
