F.Y.R. Macedonia round-up: Vardar ease to victory

FK Vardar showed no signs of their midweek defeat in the UEFA Champions League by starting their Macedonian Premier League season with a 3-0 victory against FK Napredok.

Tasev hat-trick
First-half goals from Srgjan Zaharievski, a penalty, and Dimitar Spasovski were capped off in the 75th minute by a Mario Petkov strike. Newly promoted FK Tikves also got off to an excellent start, and moved into second place with a 4-2 win against FK Cementarnica 55, Antonio Tasev hitting a hat-trick.

Newcomers win
Tikves's fellow top-flight newcomers, FK Bregalnica Delcevo, also registered three points after Dime Apostolovski scored the only goal of the game against FK Sileks. Sasko Krstev scored 19 minutes from time to earn FK Pobeda a narrow 1-0 success against FK Rabotnicki, while FK Sloga Jugomagnat and FK Kumanovo drew 0-0.

Belasica on top
FK Belasica GC, who finished third last season, started their campaign yesterday, Nikola Tusanev's 69th-minute strike earning them a 1-0 success against FK Pelister.
