Georgian champions FC Torpedo Kutaisi have signed forward Zaza Zirakishvili from rivals FC Dinamo Tbilisi.
Shock move
Dinamo fans were shocked by the move, but Zirakishvilil, who was suspended by the club for leaving a training camp, said: "It was not my dream to leave Dinamo for Torpedo, but it was the chain of events which made me do so."
Club statement
On 16 January in Yerevan, Zirakishvili left his team-mates as they were on their way to a training camp in Cyprus. "Following the incident, the club made a decision to disqualify a player without placing him on transfer list," a club statement read at the time.
Asatiani move mooted
Zirakishvili topped the Georgian league's scoring charts in 2000/01 with 21 goals. Torpedo playmaker Malkhaz Asatiani might soon be moving in the opposite direction according to Georgian press reports.
