Article body
English Premiership newcomers West Bromwich Albion FC have agreed terms with Coventry City FC over the return of striker Lee Hughes.
Coming back
Hughes, 26, left WBA to join Coventry in a €7.8m deal last summer after a four-year spell at the Hawthorns. While with West Brom, he scored 85 goals in 177 games. However, after just one season with Coventry, in which he scored 14 goals in 38 games, he looks to be on his way.
Fee agreed
"We have agreed a fee with Coventry for Lee Hughes," WBA managing director Brendon Batson told the club's official website. "Negotiations with the player are ongoing."
Promotion hope
WBA were promoted to the Premiership this summer, while Coventry are beginning their second campaign in the first division since relegation at the end of the 2000/01 season. Coventry had hoped Hughes would inspire them to an instant return to the top flight but they could only finish eleventh, while WBA were second.
