Homesick Kamata leaves Groningen

Members

FC Groningen have allowed Pedro Kamata to return to France after he failed to settle at the club.

Homesick striker
Groningen are expected to try and sell the Angolan striker to a French club after he complained of homesickness in his first months in the Netherlands. Kamata told the Eredivisie side he misses his girlfriend and family and wants to leave despite signing a four-year contract after leaving AJ Auxerre.

'I miss my friends and family'
"Groningen have done everything to make me feel good. Everyone is there for me, but I miss my friends and family," explained the 20-year-old. "I'm glad that I can return home now." Groningen will speak with Kamata over the next week to try and iron out their differences and decide whether they should continue the relationship.
