Mark Roberts opened the scoring for Shelbourne on 34 minutes, and second-half strikes from defenders Barry Prenderville and David Crawley sealed the victory, with the gap to leaders Bohemian FC, who were losing their FAI Cup semi-final to Shamrock Rovers FC now cut to ten points.
