TVMK Tallinn's Estonian first division title hopes have ended with a home defeat at the hands of FC Levadia Tallinn - leaving leaders FC Flora and FC Levadia Maardu as the remaining contenders on a day of a clean sweep of away wins.
Apalinski buries TVMK hopes
TVMK took the lead as Andrei Krõlov scored his 36th goal of the season, but Estonian Cup winners Levadia equalised through Ukrainian striker Yuriy Fenin's penalty. Young forward Vladimir Voskoboinikov put Levadia into the lead after 70 minutes, and although Deniss Malov gave the home side hope with a goal five minutes from time, Pavel Apalinski goal's ended TMVK's dream three minutes later.
Flora close to title
JK Tulevik Viljandi and Flora played out a goalless first half - but it all changed after the break. Tulevik went ahead through Vjatseslav Zahovaiko in the 50th minute, but Flora equalised with a Joel Lindpere goal and substitute Kert Haavistu put Flora 2-1 ahead in the 61st minute. The defending champions then scored three goals inside three minutes, Tor Henning Hamre scoring two and Lindpere adding his second of the afternoon to make it 5-1. Hamre has now scored in 18 goals in eleven matches, and in six consecutive games, two shy of Sergei Bragin's record from 1992.
Levadia condemn Levadia
Flora's only remaining rivals, Maardu relegated their nursery club FC Levadia Pärnu with a 7-2 win. Pärnu without a win for 18 games, conceded doubles from Oleg Gorjatsov and Mati Pari, and further goals from Konstantin Nahk, Vitali Leitan and Maksim Rõtskov. Maardu captain Sergei Hohlov-Simson scored an own goal, with Viljar Tammeleht getting the hosts' second.
Lootus beaten but safe
JK Trans Narva beat neighbours FC Lootus Kohtla-Järve 3-0, but there was consolation for the losing side with conformation that Pärnu can no longer catch them in seventh place.
