A 6-0 win at Carmarthen Town AFC saw Bangor City FC close the gap on the league leaders in Wales.

Record maintained
Having won all three of their opening League of Wales games, Bangor maintained their 100 per cent record in emphatic style. Avion James set them on their way with the opener after eleven minutes before Simon Davies doubled their advantage after 33 minutes.

Two for Hunt
Lee Hunt made it 3-0 eight minutes after the hour mark and he got his name on the scoresheet again ten minutes later, a minutes after Chris Moores had also netted. Alan Goodall completed the rout with the sixth goal a minute from time.

Early setback
Cwmbran Town FC maintained their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 away win at Welshpool Town AFC, a result which took their tally of wins to four from five games so far. Chris Roberts put the home side ahead after just six minutes but two goals in three minutes from Anthony Wright (22) and Jeff Aspell (25) were enough to clinch all three points for the visitors.

Spike strikes
Aberystwyth Town FC gained their first win of the campaign thanks to a 3-1 home success against Newtown, who are still winless after five games. Lee Spike put the home side in front on the hour mark, only to see his effort cancelled out by Dylan McPhee's leveller just two minutes later but Another Spike strike in the 82nd minute, and a penalty from Martin Griffiths two minutes from time sealed maximum points for Aberystwyth.

Three is the magic number
Elsewhere, Caersws FC and Rhyl FC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw while Connah's Quay Nomads FC picked up three points with a comfortable 3-0 win against Llanelli FC. Three was the magic number in Caernarfon on Friday as Caernarfon Town FC drew 3-3 against Flexys Cefn Druids FC, and TNS Llansantffraid FC also scored three goals in a 3-0 win at Oswestry Town FC.

Barry thwarted
Afan Lido FC and Haverfordwest County AFC shared the points in a 0-0 draw at the Afan Lido Sports Centre, but perhaps the biggest result came at Jenner Park where reigning champions Barry Town AFC succumbed to a surprise 1-0 home defeat against Port Talbot FC. Both sides had goals disallowed in the first half before Barry resident Mark Dodds beat goalkeeper Simon Rayner with a 35 metre shot to win the game for the visitors.
