Members

AEK Athens FC defeated city rivals Panathinaikos 1-0 with a first-half goal from Ilija Ivic.

Ilija Ivic's first-half goal secured AEK a 1-0 win over Athens rivals Panathinaikos FC at the weekend.

Fans delirious
Ivic fired home after an inch-perfect assist from Demis Nikolaidis on 40 minutes to cap a dominant first-half performance and send the Nikos Goumas faithful wild. Panathinaikos coach Fernando Santos, whose side are without a point in three matches, introduced Emmanuel Olisadebe, Goran Vlaovic and Krzystof Warzycha in the second half to boost the attack, but it was to no avail.

Fofonka derails Olympiakos
Olympiakos Piraeus FC were held to a 2-2 draw in Thessaloniki by second-placed Iraklis FC, who went ahead early after a thunderous long-range shot from Marcin Mieczel. The defending champions levelled through Stylianos Giannakopoulos and looked certain to take all three points after Giovanni headed them into the lead with eight minutes to go, but Ederson Fofonka sneaked in at the death to level.

Plucky Kallithea
Newly promoted Kallithea GS again showed their metal with a 3-2 away defeat of FC PAOK Thessaloniki, going ahead through Theofanis Gekas before Georgios Georgiadis' equalised from the spot. Giannis Tatsis made it 2-1 and Gekas was again on target for the third, although Giorgios Georgiadis pulled one back in the final stages to take his tally to three goals in five matches.

Egaleo happy at home
Proodeftiki FC, also promoted at the end of last season, continue to impress, holding Xanthi FC to a 1-1 draw while Egaleo FC crowned a return to their renovated Stavros Mavrothalassitis home ground with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Aris Thessaloniki FC, with Kostas Papoutsis, Jean-Denis Ouanga and Nikos Nikolopoulos on the scoresheet.

Pinte double
Ionikos FC took three valuable points from their 3-2 away win over PAS Giannina FC, while OFI Crete FC collected their first point thanks to a 1-1 draw with Akratitos FC. Two goals from Slovakian midfield player Attila Pinte, meanwhile, were enough for Panionios FC to beat Panahaiki FC 2-0.
