Derby victory
Having scored twice last week as his side went down 3-2 to Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Rosen scored another brace of goals to ensure this local derby was a largely one-sided affair.
Penalty drama
New signing Shlomi Edri broke the deadlock with a spectacular volley from Stanislav Dobrovin's knock-down in the 28th minute.Ten minutes later, Edri burst on to Erez Eliav's pass, only to be brought down by Maccabi Petach-Tikva goalkeeper Sagi Straus. Rosen made no mistake from the resulting penalty.
Last-minute strike
He completed the scoring in the very last minute, running on to Dobrovin's pass to beat Straus from the edge of the area and leave Maccabi still searching for their first points of the season.
Frist win
Beitar Jerusalem recorded their first victory of the season, winning 3-1 at newly-promoted Hapoel Kfar-Saba. Itzik Zohar opened the scoring with a powerful volley five minutes into the game, capitalising on good work by Kfir Edri.
Powerful header
Edri delivered a pinpoint cross moments later to set up Polish striker Andzej Kubika, who powerfully headed past goalkeeper Ohad Cohen. The game was as good as won five minutes after the interval, as Moshe Biton won the ball near the halfway line before breaking forward. His cross found Kubika again, who headed in his second at the far post.
Consolation goal
In the closing minutes, Kfar-Saba scored a consolation goal, their first of the season, substitute Yaniv Abargil's cut-back allowing new signing Claudio Millar to tap home from close range.
Away success
Two goals from Roslan Lubarski helped Maccabi Netanya beat another promoted side, Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv, 2-1 away. The away team enjoyed a spell of pressure, which culminated in Ruslan Lubarski getting on the end of Guy Zarfati's cross into the penalty area to beat Avi Igbi and give Netanya the lead.
Headed equaliser
However, the home side hit back and equalised in the 26th minute, captain Hezi Shirazi rising highest to head home Hasan Hassarmah's cross.
Intercepted back pass
But their joy was short-lived, as Lubarski stole all the points for the away side in the second half. He pounced on a short back pass to round Igbi and roll the ball into the unguarded net, giving Netanya a narrow victory.
