Scotland round-up: Mols magic inspires leaders

Michael Mols put Rangers FC on the road to a 2-1 victory against Hibernian FC with an early goal for the Scottish Premier League leaders on Sunday.

Dutchman Mols found the net before Shota Arveladze doubled the lead and although Tam McManus pulled a goal back for Hibernian, Rangers held on to maintain top spot.

Celtic on song
Nearest challengers Celtic FC maintained their progress with a 2-0 win against Dundee United FC at Tannadice. The first goal of the game came from in-form Welshman John Hartson after 12 minutes before Chris Sutton's 88th-minute header from ten metres secured the all three points.

Seven up for Livingston
On Saturday, Livingston FC stretched their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Partick Thistle FC. Partick were sunk by goals from Eugene Dadi, Marvyn Andrews and David Bingham, who clipped in the third on the hour after Javier Sanchez Broto's long punt.

Boyd brilliance
Kilmarnock FC piled more pressure onto Motherwell FC with a last-gasp winner from Kris Boyd at Fir Park. Boyd's 20-metre free-kick ensured the home side have now played eight games without a win.

Goalless draw
Elsewhere, Aberdeen FC and Heart of Midlothian FC drew 0-0 while the match between Dundee FC and Dunferline Athletic FC was postponed until Tuesday night.
