Kryvbas snap up Georgian starlet

Members

Georgian Under-21 international Revaz Gotsiridze has signed for Ukrainian side FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih.

Georgian connection
Striker Gotsiridze has signed an 18-month contract and becomes the third Georgian player at Kryvbas, linking up with defenders Zurab Popkhadze and Levan Mikadze. The 22-year-old was recommended to his new club by former USSR and FC Dynamo Kyiv player Viktor Kanevsky, now a consultant at WIT.

Classical centre-forward
"Revaz Gotsiridze has all the qualities of a proper centre-forward - he has good strength and aggression, he offers an aerial threat and is dangerous on the break as well," said the Kryvbas coach Olexandr Ischenko.

Scoring form
Gotsiridze could make his debut on Sunday when Kryvbas, who are eighth in the table with 22 points from 19 games, take on FC Vorskla Poltava in Poltava. The forward previously played for FC Gorda 2000 Rustavi, where he was top scorer in 2001/02, precipitating a call-up to Georgia's U21 squad.
