Rapid rise
The former FC Rapid Bucuresti player, who has agreed an 18-month deal, said he hoped the Universitatea fans would not hold his time in the capital against him. "I am a professional player and I have come to Craiova with an open heart."
Experience abroad
Bundea had two spells with Rapid, his first club, sandwiching a short stay in the 2. Bundesliga with Offenbacher Kickers 1901. He then returned to Germany with SV Waldhof Mannheim before transferring to Zenit last year. "I learnt a lot from my experience abroad," he said. "I was astonished at how the Germans always played with the same level of commitment, regardless of whether it was a training session or a match."
Close call
Universitatea currently occupy eleventh place in the 16-team Divizia A, but lie just one point clear of second-bottom side SC Astra Ploiesti.
