Article body
RC Deportivo La Coruña had to rely on Albert Luque's last-gasp winner for a 4-3 victory in the Copa del Rey against RC Ferrol tonight.
Tristán double
Two goals from Diego Tristán helped put Deportivo in a position to overcome a resilient home side. Tristán struck in the 20th and 59th minutes but in between a double from Angel Cuéllar gave Ferrol real hope of pulling off an upset. However, Albert Luque popped up in the 74th minute to make it 3-2 before Japanese forward Sotaro Yasunaga equalised eight minutes later. Yet, Luque was not finished and hit the winner just before the end.
Penalties needed
Elsewhere in the Spanish Cup tonight, RCD Mallorca, another top-flight side, won 4-2 on penalties against Hercules CF after neither side could find the net in normal time. The final match of the night saw Novelda CF beaten 3-0 by Terrassa CF with all the goals coming in the last 20 minutes.
