Article body
TNS Llansantffraid FC continued their League of Wales championship charge with a 2-0 victory at Bangor City FC on
Saturday.
Six-point lead
Goals either side of the half-time interval from Steve Evans and John Toner were enough to see off their high-flying rivals and open up a six-point lead at the top of the table.
Parry double
Ten-man Afan Lido FC moved into third place after a 3-0 win at home against Connah's Quay Nomads FC, with Stephen Parry scoring twice and Kevin Bartley adding a late third.
Thank Evans
Elsewhere, Caersws FC had Graham Evans to thank as his double enabled them to edge a 2-1 win against visiting Flexsys Cefn Druids AFC, for whom Mike Davies found the net. A solitary Ben Kinsey goal was enough for Welshpool Town AFC to defeat Newtown AFC.
Barry slip
On Friday, Barry Town AFC missed the chance to temporarily join Llansantffraid at the top of the table after crashing to a 3-1 defeat at Aberystwyth Town FC. Barry took a 14th-minute lead through Lawrance Davies but Anthony Wright's goal and Lee Spike's double helped lift Aberystwyth to fourth.
Cwmbran comeback
Cwmbran Town FC beat Haverfordwest County AFC 3-1. Dylan Blain had put the visitors ahead but goals from Chris Watkins, Richard Carter and Christopher Summers gave Cwmbran all three points.
Crane lift
Meanwhile, a Peter Crane double helped Oswestry Town FC beat Caernarfon Town FC 3-0 and basement club Llanelli FC crashed to their eleventh defeat of the season, a 2-1 reverse at Carmarthen Town AFC.
