PFC Litex Lovech's Stanislav Bachev has been banned for six months by the Bulgarian Football Union.

PFC Litex Lovech defender Stanislav Bachev has been banned for six months by the Bulgarian Football Union (BFS), after being sent off during his side's match against PFC CSKA Sofia on Saturday.

Penalty decision
Bachev, who came on as a second-half substitute in Litex's 0-1 defeat, assaulted referee Momchil Vraykov in the second minute of added time. Vraykov had just awarded a penalty to CSKA. Bachev protested against the decision and head-butted Vraykov, who promptly sent him off.

Team-mates banned
As well as the ban, Bachev's actions also earned him a €4,000 fine. His team-mate Tiago Silva, who was also sent off during the match, will be banned for two matches. Murad Hidiouede also picked up a two-game ban for spitting on the BFS delegate Borislav Aleksandrov after the match.
