Article body
Celtic FC forward Henrik Larsson took advantage of a barren weekend for the rest of Europe's top strikers to narrow the gap on the top two in the ESM Golden Shoe.
Winter break
The Swedish striker made it 20 goals for the season with the second goal in Celtic's 2-0 win against Dundee FC in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday. None of the other leading Golden Shoe contenders found the net, although many were not in action because of the winter break.
Five more needed
Andrei Krõlov and Arman Karamyan, the men in first and second place on 37 and 36 points respectively, have no chance to add to their tallies because the football season in Estonia and Armenia has finished. They will be wary of Larsson, as he now stands on 30 points and only needs five more strikes to become the outright leader thanks to the 1.5 multiplier afforded to Scotland.

Only the leading five countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England) on the UEFA Ranking have 2 as their multiplier. This is to emphasise the difference in (international) performance level between the clubs from those countries and those from the other countries.
A player cannot first play in a summer league (e.g. Norway) and then in a winter league (e.g. Spain) and combine the points total for each season.
