Panathinaikos FC's all-time leading goalscorer Krzysztof Warzycha has signed a one-year extension to his current contract.
Signed in 1989
The 38-year-old Polish striker today agreed a deal with club chairman Angelos Filippidis to remain at Panathinaikos until December 2003. Warzycha joined the Greens in 1989 and has since become an iconic figure for the club's fanatical followers.
Goal haul
To date Warzycha has scored 241 league goals for Panathinaikos, leaving him 19 behind AEK Athens FC and Panionios GS legend Thomas Mavros, Greek football's record scorer.
European leader
He is also Panathinaikos's leading scorer in European club competition, having notched 24 times including three from the bench this season to prove that there is no substitute for experience.
Two against Litex
Two of those goals this season came in extra time in the defeat of Bulgarian side PFC Litex Lovech in the first round of the UEFA Cup, the other against Fenerbahçe SK of Turkey in the following round.
